On 17 November 2016 Dr. Yehia al-Kubaisi delivered a seminar ‘The Future of Iraq after ISIS’ to the Middle East Directions programme at the Robert Schuman Center in the European University Institute, after which he gave this interview.

Yehia al-Kubaisi is a consultant for the Iraqi Center for Strategic Studies and worked previously as a visiting researcher at the French Near East Institute. Dr. Al-Kubaisi will give a seminar on the future of Iraq after the fall of the self-proclaimed Islamic State in which he will touch upon a number of issues, such as the challenges facing the Iraqi political regime, the Sunni-Shia polarization, the militarization of ethnic and religious minorities and the role of regional powers in Iraqi politics.
