What can we learn from past diplomatic approaches to conflicts, in order to prevent new ones? And what role can the EU play, basing on the experience of previous successes as well as failures?
Fabrizio Tassinari, Executive Director of the School of Transnational Governance (STG), and Luigi Narbone, Director of the Middle East Directions Programme and Coordinator for the Peace and Security Cluster for the STG, are interviewed by Radio Vaticana on the upcoming Executive Training Seminar on ‘Learning from Conflicts: Approaches to Peace-building and the Role of Europe’, that will be held at the European University Institute of Florence on 12-13-14 December 2018*.
Three different case studies – Syria, Colombia and Ukraine – will be crucial to analyse, in a comparative dimension, the adopted peace-building approaches. Academic research and expertise from the world of practice will be combined in order to provide the participants with both theoretical and technical insights.
