The Research Assistant will help the Director of the Middle East Directions Programme in the coordination and implementation of his research and educational activities. In particular, s/he will support the Director in monitoring and analysing geo-political and geo- economic developments in the MENA region, with an emphasis on the Gulf region (Saudi Arabia, other GCC countries, Iran, Iraq and Yemen). S/he will assist in designing and implementing research, educational activities and dialogue initiatives in thematic areas such as the MENA regional order, economy and conflicts, and peace-building processes. S/he will provide support in coordinating the network of partners and contacts in the region, neighbouring countries, and the EU, as well as in the production of analysis that is more broadly relevant to the Programme’s activities.
